Valerie is a Partner at ELLALAN.

Valerie’s practice focuses on China and Hong Kong intellectual property, especially trademark and branding matters. Having spent time in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong prior to joining us, Valerie provides clients with one-stop advice on Greater China branding issues. She has also gained extensive experience in the full range of trademark work, including portfolio management, enforcement and litigation.

Providing comprehensive solutions to clients, Valerie also handles matters involving other Asia Pacific countries and other intellectual property such as domain name complaints, copyright and licensing. In addition, Valerie has also advised clients on advertising and consumer protection laws in Greater China.

Valerie’s clients appreciate her sensitivity to commercial needs and reality. Valerie has assisted clients from a range of industries, including consumer, luxury, hospitality, financial services, media and entertainment and telecommunications.

Prior to joining us, Valerie was an Associate in the Intellectual Property teams at the global law firms Hogan Lovells and Clifford Chance. In these roles, Valerie has also gained substantial experience in a range of IP matters in the Asia Pacific region and in advising on IP aspects of cross-border transactions and litigations. Valerie is also a Council Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Trade Marks Practitioners and a member of International Trademark Association and Asian Patent Attorneys Association.

Valerie is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
