On 22 June 2022, a decision was made by the Mainland Supreme People’s Court (“SPC”) under which the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (“HKIAC”) was to be included in the second group of arbitration institutions in the “One-Stop” Platform for Diversified International Commercial Dispute Resolution of the China International Commercial Court (“CICC”).
This means that parties to cases administered by the HKIAC with an amount in dispute of over RMB 300 million or with a significant impact may now also apply for interim measures and/or the enforcement of arbitral awards directly to the CICC.
