Aside from his busy practice, our Managing Partner Alan Chiu has all along been devoting his time to various charitable and volunteers groups on pro bono/ community service work. Congratulations to Alan’s recent appointment as the President of the Rotary Club of Harmony and Prosperity Hong Kong (“Rotary Club”)!

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Rotary Club’s signature Millennium Entrepreneurship Programme (“MEP”), and as the new President, Alan will be introducing a revolutionary Intellectual Property (“IP”) Bank concept to the MEP project.

The IP Bank will leverage IP to safeguard the business proposals of participating teams, predominantly focusing on innovative startups, products and services aimed at resolving social problems. These proposals will be showcased to potential venture capitalists, with any proceeds from the acquisition or licensing of these IPs being channeled back to the respective schools of the participating teams or any charities designed by the schools. This serves as an incentive for fostering further innovation and an education of the fundamental IP concepts to our next generation.
