25/07/2019

What legal risks could there possibly be with trying to be a KOL?

Our Managing Partner, Alan Chiu, was invited by the Law Society of Hong Kong to speak at the Phase 10 “Legal Pioneers” Mentorship Programme Day Camp on 6 July 2019.

The sharing mainly focused on legal issues related to becoming a KOL (Key Opinion Leader). With various real-life examples infused into the sharing, a wide range of topics were discussed, including content accuracy and content legitimacy of the information provided by KOLs, criminal liability arising from identity theft and unauthorized use of personal information, and the serious consequences resulted from gender discrimination, defamation and cyber bullying. The captivating sharing has ignited the spark of curiosity in the participants and enhanced their knowledge on related legal issues.
